as they get east southeast across the area Monday evening and night. Says The National Weather Service.

The Storm Prediction Center has marked the region with hazard of Severe Windstorm, for the most part because of solid wind blasts. In their discussion, that's what the Center notes "essentially irregular serious breeze blasts are normal during that time as a

complex of rainstorms sorts out toward the beginning of today in Missouri, Iowa, then at that point, continues toward the east through the midday across northern Illinois and maybe outrageous

southern Wisconsin ... Whether or not the event technically meets derecho criteria, an area of solid extreme wind would be expected ... Some gusts might reach (65+ kt) speeds, prepared to do locally significant harm."
